Twenty teams will compete in the 2026 T20 World Cup, hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Both nations have qualified as hosts, while Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the United States, the West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Canada will join them.
The easiest way to bet on the T20 World Cup is to back the team you think will win the tournament outright. As hosts and defending champions, India are the favourites, but Pakistan will also fancy their chances in favourable conditions, given the current strength of their T20 line-up.
As every cricket format is unique, understanding how the tournament works is crucial before betting. The 20 teams are split into four groups, with five nations in each group.
Both teams will face 20 overs in each match, unless they are bowled out beforehand or the batting team reaches their target before all 20 overs have been bowled. A Super Over can be used at the end of each game if the scores are level after 20 overs.
The top two teams in each group advance to the Super Eight stage of the tournament, with two groups of four teams. Then, the top two from each group make it to the knockout stage after playing three matches apiece.
The knockouts are a straight semi-final, followed by the grand final to determine the winner of the T20 Cricket World Cup.
Below are the different ways you can bet on the T20 Cricket World Cup at Parimatch:
This is a classic form of cricket betting for any tournament, because everybody will ask for your prediction beforehand, and you'll have a hunch of who will come out on top.
If you place an outright winner bet, the team you bet on will need to win the whole tournament unless you've placed an each-way bet, which means you're given a reprieve if your selected team loses in the final, and you'll win a reduced amount.
When the odds are published and the betting markets are up on the platform, select the game you want to bet on and analyse the odds. If you believe that the odds shown represent good value for the likelihood of the winner, place your stake and wait for the game to come to its conclusion.
If you don't feel confident enough to predict the winner from the start of the tournament but believe a team has a more straightforward route out of round one than other sides, you can bet on who will win the four groups.
Each group is finely poised this year, so the odds could work in your favour. Remember that the selected team must win the group for your bet to come in, not just qualify out of the group.
India are the defending T20 World Cup champions, having defeated South Africa in the 2024 final at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. Only six teams have won the T20 Cricket World Cup since its inception, and no team has won the tournament more than twice.

| 2022 | Australia | England | Pakistan |
| 2021 | UAE & Oman | Australia | New Zealand |
| 2016 | India | West Indies | England |
| 2014 | Bangladesh | Sri Lanka | India |

India are the favourites to win the 2026 T20 Cricket World Cup. The defending champions will have home advantage, alongside many of the best short-format cricketers in the world.
Australia, England, and South Africa all have short odds going into the tournament, while Pakistan would love to win a tournament hosted by their arch rivals.
Afghanistan were the surprise package in the last men’s World Cup, reaching the semi-final stage, so they could be a decent outside each-way bet, given the conditions will likely favour them in India.
