Cricket World Cup Odds 2027

Three host nations, 14 teams and a format which did not exist a year ago. Africa gets the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup back in 2027, with South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia sharing the hosting duties.

The latest Cricket World Cup odds appear above. India currently head the outright market, with Australia, England and South Africa among the contenders. Prices move throughout the build-up, so the live market takes priority over an older number.

This page covers the format, qualification and main Cricket World Cup betting markets. Looking for something sooner? Today's board sits under cricket betting.

When Is the 2027 Cricket World Cup?

Circle 4 October to 21 November 2027 for now, but use pencil. That is the provisional tournament window, not a finished fixture list. We are still waiting to learn who opens the show, where each match lands and how the groups are drawn.

Most matches belong to South Africa. Zimbabwe helped to host in 2003, while Namibia gets its first turn. Windhoek's new FNB Namibia Cricket Ground already has a place on the World Cup map.

New Cricket World Cup 2027 Format

The old ten-team league has gone. An earlier proposal borrowed the 2003 structure, but the ICC binned that idea too. Its July 2026 decision created three rounds before the semi-finals, giving the 14th edition a shape of its own.

It sounds busy on first reading. Take it one layer at a time and the route becomes much clearer.

Super Series

First comes a mini-league for the three lowest-ranked qualifiers. They get two games apiece, one against each rival, and the small margin for error is obvious. Finish top or go home.

Group Stage

The Super Series survivor joins 11 waiting countries. The field then splits into two groups of six, and 30 matches are needed for everybody to meet the other five sides in their section.

Three places from each group are guaranteed. There is also a lifeline for the stronger of the two sides sitting next in line, which completes the seven-team field.

Super 7

Nobody can hide in the Super 7. Its 21-game round robin puts every surviving country against the other six. Once that is done, the leaders meet the team in fourth and the middle two face one another.

Semi-Finals and Final

There are no second chances in either semi-final. Win and the final awaits. Lose and weeks of work end one stop short.

The maths comes to 57 matches: three in the opening mini-league, 30 across the two groups, another 21 in the Super 7 and three at the knockout end.

Which Teams Will Play at the 2027 Cricket World Cup?

Fourteen shirts will eventually hang in the dressing rooms, but not all the names are known yet.

South Africa and Zimbabwe already have their invitations because both are Full Member hosts. The hosting label means something different for Namibia. It provides venues, not a free pass, so the Namibian side still has to earn its way in.

The ICC Men's ODI Team Rankings hand direct entry to another eight countries. A global Qualifier supplies the last four and keeps the door open for nations travelling through Cricket World Cup League 2 or the Challenge League route.

Qualification matters to the outright market. A country can appear in early Cricket World Cup winner odds before its place is safe. Before backing one, take a moment to look at both its route and the market terms.

Who Are the Cricket World Cup Favourites?

The current 2027 Cricket World Cup odds point first towards India. They marched unbeaten to the 2023 final, only for Australia to stop them when the trophy was one game away.

Australia bring a rather persuasive argument of their own: six trophies. Even their latest campaign began badly, with two defeats, before nine wins on the bounce carried them all the way through Ahmedabad.

England sit among the shorter-priced challengers. There are two recent memories for bettors to balance: the joy of a first title in 2019 and a seventh-place collapse four years later.

Then there are the leading hosts. South Africa won seven group games in 2023, yet the men's side is still waiting for its first ODI World Cup final. Home conditions help the case without answering the old knockout question.

New Zealand and Pakistan hold prominent early prices as well. The Black Caps have reached at least the last four in five consecutive editions. Pakistan's lone crown is older, dating to 1992, but its white-ball ceiling keeps the team relevant.

Treat this early order as the opening conversation. A qualification scare, injury or year of outstanding ODI form could rearrange it long before the first ball.

Cricket World Cup Betting Markets

Cricket World Cup betting can cover the champion, one team's progress, an individual match or a player's performance. Market availability changes as the competition approaches, so read the exact title and rules shown with each selection.

Cricket World Cup Winner

This is the main outright. Find the country you expect to survive every stage and take home the trophy.

Nothing before the final settles a winner bet. A perfect group or runners-up medal still leaves the selection short.

Outright Cricket World Cup odds may remain open once play begins. Results and a team's route through the competition can cause its price to shorten or drift.

To Reach the Final

This market only asks whether the selected team makes the final. It does not need to lift the trophy.

Group Winner and Qualification Markets

The draw should bring prices on group winners and Super 7 qualification. Do not confuse them: topping the section demands more than merely escaping it.

Even fourth may be good enough for one country under the new cross-group route. That makes the tiebreak wording worth reading once the final rules arrive.

Match Winner

Pick the winner of one World Cup fixture rather than the full tournament. Group, Super 7 and knockout matches can each have their own prices.

Rain can turn a 50-over afternoon into something very different. If Duckworth-Lewis-Stern calculations, a reserve day or abandonment becomes possible, read how the market handles it before choosing.

Top Tournament Batter

Back the player you expect to finish with the largest run pile. An opener usually gets more time at the crease, though opportunity also depends on selection and how far the team travels.

Rohit Sharma's 597 was enough to lead everybody in 2023. With extra cricket built into this edition, the next winning number could look quite different.

Top Tournament Bowler

Here the target is wickets rather than runs. Mohammed Shami needed only seven appearances to collect 24 in 2023 and finish clear of the field.

New-ball duties, death overs and selection security can matter. It is also worth checking whether wickets taken during the Super Series count towards the market.

Player Runs, Wickets and Performance Markets

Individual match markets may set a runs line for a batter or a wickets line for a bowler. Some events also offer player milestones, method of dismissal or combined performance selections.

Rules can vary, so check what happens if the named player does not take part.

Team and Match Totals

Totals betting asks whether an innings, team or full match finishes above or below a displayed number. It removes the need to choose the winner.

Venue, pitch and weather can all shape a total. Reduced overs may also change settlement.

Most Sixes

Choose the biggest six-hitter over the period named in the market. If two players finish level, the dead-heat terms may reduce the return.

In-Play Cricket World Cup Betting

Live prices respond to the score, wickets, required run rate and overs remaining. Choices may cover the winner, innings total or next dismissal. Use the match state displayed beside the market before confirming an in-play bet.

What Can Change Cricket World Cup Odds?

There is too much cricket between now and October 2027 for the outright list to sit still. These are some of the moving parts.

Qualification

Only ten countries receive direct places, with the other four coming through the global Qualifier. A team forced into that event faces a real risk of missing the World Cup.

Squad News

Remove the first-choice opener or the bowler trusted to take wickets in the middle overs and the same squad suddenly looks less complete.

Form and Rankings

One bilateral series should not erase years of evidence, but repeated results can reshape the market. Performances in comparable conditions may carry particular weight.

Conditions and Venues

Expect pace and bounce at several South African grounds, though no single description fits an entire country. Zimbabwe and Namibia bring their own character, then travel and the draw add another layer.

Market Movement

Money arriving on one name can push its odds down. That tells us where the price travelled, never where the trophy is destined to go.

Who Won the Last Cricket World Cup?

Ahmedabad expected an Indian celebration in 2023. Australia left with the cup instead, beating the previously unbeaten hosts by six wickets.

India's 240 looked more imposing when the reply stumbled to 47 for three. Travis Head changed the night with 137, while Marnus Labuschagne stayed beside him for an unbeaten 58. The chase ended in the 43rd over.

It completed a remarkable recovery. Pat Cummins and company had lost to India and South Africa at the start, but nobody beat them again.

Recent Cricket World Cup Winners

The Australian collection now covers 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015 and 2023.

England finally joined the roll of honour in 2019. Neither the regulation match nor a Super Over separated them from New Zealand, leaving the boundary-count rule then in use to decide it.

Four years earlier, New Zealand had also finished second as Australia took the 2015 trophy. India celebrated at home in 2011, while Australia's 2007 win completed a hat-trick of championships.

Across 13 completed editions, Australia own six of the trophies. India and West Indies have a pair each. England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have enjoyed the moment once.
