The 2026 Masters Snooker tournament is scheduled from Sunday, 11th January to 1Sunday, 8th January 2026 , kicking off the 2026 snooker circuit in the best way possible. It’s the second-longest-running professional snooker tournament after the iconic World Snooker Championship.
With so many big-name players likely to be involved, let’s look in more detail at the latest Masters snooker odds available to bet on at Parimatch.
Unlike other tournaments on the snooker circuit, The Masters is an invitational event. Although it’s not a ranking event, it’s still considered part of snooker’s famous ‘Triple Crown’, including the World Championship and the UK Championship.
Historically, the Masters was open to the world’s top ten players and expanded to the world’s top 16 players. It ensures the tournament features only the world’s elite snooker players, creating one of the toughest events on the calendar with no early-round gimmes.
Shaun Murphy won the 2025 Masters, defeating Kyren Wilson 10–7 and impressively making a maximum break during the tournament. Ronnie O'Sullivan claimed his record-extending eighth Masters title in 2024, beating Ali Carter 10–7.
In 2023, Judd Trump edged out Welsh veteran Mark Williams 10–8 in a tense encounter at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Neil Robertson secured his second Masters title in 2022 with a comfortable 10–4 victory over Barry Hawkins. Earlier, Yan Bingtao became only the second Chinese player – after Ding Junhui – to win a Masters title, edging out Scotsman John Higgins 10–8 at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes.
‘The Rocket’, Ronnie O’Sullivan, dominated The Masters in the mid-2010s, winning three out of four Masters events between 2014 and 2017, respectively.
Who do Parimatch’s traders fancy to win the first Triple Crown event of the calendar year? Below, we look at the five main contenders for the Paul Hunter Trophy:
World number one, Ronnie O’Sullivan, will always be a major threat at the most significant snooker events, including The Masters. O’Sullivan has won The Masters a record eight times (most recently in 2024), reaching the final on 13 occasions in total. No other player has come close to his level of consistency at The Masters, with Stephen Hendry second with six tournament wins and three runner-up finishes.
Trump has two Masters victories to his name, including a memorable win in 2023 against Mark Williams. Trump has racked up several victories in ranking tournaments, including the English Open, Wuhan Open and the Northern Ireland Open.
Mark Selby is a three-time Masters winner himself. His last win came over a decade ago, in 2013, against Neil Robertson. In the 2025 Masters, Selby showed a strong form with a 6-1 win over Ali Carter in the first round but ewas beaten 6-2 by Mark Allen in the quarter-finals.
Though he didn’t secure a ranking title in the 2023/24 season, Selby reached the final of the British Open, the semi-finals of the European Masters, and also made the last four in the non-ranking Shanghai Masters.
A proven campaigner, Selby has the pedigree to enjoy another deep run at The Masters.
Former world champion and world number one Neil Robertson is still a major force to be reckoned with. The Australian lifted the Paul Hunter Trophy for a second time in 2022, a decade after his inaugural triumph against Shaun Murphy.
In the 2025 Masters, Robertson edged out John Higgins 6–5 in the opening round but was defeated 6–2 by Shaun Murphy in the quarter-finals. Despite a dip in form during the 2023/24 season, Robertson’s experience and class make him a perennial threat.
Luca Brecel, the 2023 World Champion, was seeded number two for the 2024 Masters. He beat Mark Selby 18–15 in a thrilling Crucible final to claim his world title. In the 2025 Masters, Brecel overcame Chris Wakelin 6–3 in the first round but was narrowly beaten 6–4 by Kyren Wilson in the quarter-finals.
His form has been inconsistent since his world title win, with third-round finishes in the European Masters and English Open, but his Crucible heroics prove he thrives on the big stage.
Zhao Xintong made history by winning the 2025 World Snooker Championship, defeating Mark Williams 18–12 in the final at the Crucible Theatre. He became the first Chinese player to win snooker’s most prestigious title and did so after an extraordinary run from the qualifying rounds.
Zhao’s inspired performances, including a dominant semi-final win over Ronnie O’Sullivan, confirmed his status as one of the sport’s brightest stars and a serious contender for future Masters glory.
