The National Rugby League (NRL) is Australia’s top professional rugby league competition, featuring 17 teams from across Australia and New Zealand.  

The regular season runs from March to September each year, followed by the finals series in October. The highest-ranked eight teams at the end of the regular season contest a four-week tournament. Two teams are eliminated each week until the last two remain.

The Government of New South Wales recently confirmed that the final would be held at Australia Stadium in Sydney until at least 2046.
