Luke Littler is the defending champion after getting the better of Luke Humphries in a superb 2026 final. It finished 11-10 and, after 20 legs, there was still nothing between them. Littler held his nerve in the decider to win the Premier League for a second time.

Chase the sun and follow the darts by betting on the PDC Premier League at Parimatch. The competition moves between packed arenas in the UK and Europe, with a different knockout tournament played every Thursday.

There are really two stories running at once. Somebody wins the night and takes the bonus, but the other players can still leave with useful points. A semi-final here, a final there, and suddenly a player who has not won for weeks is sitting inside the top four.

Premier League Darts is an invitational PDC event featuring eight players. Recent editions have included the top four in the PDC Order of Merit alongside four wildcard selections.

Each of the 16 league nights has four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and a final. The format is best of 11 legs throughout the evening, so the first player to six moves on.

Points are awarded as follows:

Five points for the nightly winner
Three points for the runner-up
Two points for each losing semi-finalist

There is no reward for going out in the quarter-finals. That can make the table move quickly. A player who loses their opener two weeks running may find themselves chasing the pack.

After Night 16, the four highest-ranked players reach Finals Night. The semi-finals are longer, at best of 19 legs, and the title match is played over the best of 21. Recent editions have staged Finals Night at The O2 in London, although the 2027 venue still needs to be confirmed.

The PDC has not confirmed the eight-player field for 2027.

Selections are normally revealed after the World Darts Championship, when the rankings and the previous season’s televised results are fresh in the mind. The top names will expect to be involved, but wildcard decisions nearly always create a talking point or two.

Littler and Humphries will draw plenty of interest should both return. They have faced one another in the last three Premier League finals. Littler won in 2024, Humphries replied in 2025, then Littler pinched the 2026 decider 11-10.

Still, the Premier League has a habit of finding room for another contender. Michael van Gerwen remains the event’s record winner, while established names and first-time selections have both enjoyed strong runs under the current weekly format.

For a useful guide, the 2026 campaign started in Newcastle on 5 February and ended at The O2 on 28 May. Antwerp joined the route for the first time, while other nights were held in Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff, Nottingham, Dublin, Berlin, Manchester, Brighton, Rotterdam, Liverpool, Aberdeen, Leeds, Birmingham and Sheffield.

Not every stop is guaranteed to return. The Premier League is popular partly because it travels, and the mix of venues can change from one year to the next.

Once the 2027 dates are official, this section will be updated with the opening night, every host city and the details for Finals Night.

The PDC has not yet published the 2027 prize-money breakdown.

In 2026, the Premier League prize fund rose to £1.25 million. The overall champion collected £350,000, while each of the 16 nightly winners earned an extra £10,000.

That nightly payment keeps something on the line even when the table has started to stretch out. A player may be too far behind to reach Finals Night but can still beat three world-class opponents, win an arena event and leave £10,000 better off.

Outright winner: Back the player you think will lift the trophy on Finals Night. Outright odds may remain open during the league phase, although results will change the prices.

To reach Finals Night: Not convinced your pick will win the whole thing? You can instead back them to finish inside the top four and qualify for the season-ending play-offs.

To finish top of the league: This market is settled after Night 16. Finishing first is an achievement in its own right, but it does not make that player the overall champion.

Nightly winner: Pick who will win a particular Thursday’s knockout event. Three victories are required, and the draw matters. One half may be far tougher than the other.

Match betting: Choose the player you expect to reach six legs first. These are short matches by top-level standards, leaving little time to repair a bad opening.

Leg handicap: The favourite gives away a virtual leg advantage, or the outsider receives one. For example, a -1.5 handicap requires a player to win by at least two legs.

Total 180s: Bet on the number of maximums hit in the match, or on one player’s individual total. A close game gives both players more visits, which is worth remembering.

Highest checkout: Back either player to land the biggest finish or choose whether the highest checkout will sit above or below the listed line.

Correct score: Call the winner and the final leg score. A 6-5 bet only lands if your selection wins the deciding leg.

In-play betting: Selected matches may remain open once the first dart has been thrown. Prices will react to breaks, missed doubles and changes in momentum, so check the live score before confirming an in-play bet.

Recent form is the obvious starting point, but not all form is equal. A long-format win at a weekend major tells you something. It does not perfectly predict what will happen in a quick race to six on Thursday.

The draw can have an immediate effect. So can throw order, finishing and how a player has handled tight matches. When the standard is high, one missed chance at double may be all the opponent needs.

Later in the season, the table brings its own pressure. The player in fifth may be desperate for points. Somebody already safely through could be more relaxed, or slightly less sharp. Both readings can make sense, which is why it is better to look at the match in front of you than rely on one trend.

The first Premier League was staged in 2005, when Phil Taylor beat Colin Lloyd 16-4 in the final. Taylor won the opening four editions and finished his career with six titles.

Michael van Gerwen eventually moved beyond that total. The Dutchman has won the Premier League seven times, including four years in a row from 2016 to 2019.

More recently, Littler announced himself by winning the competition on debut in 2024. Humphries denied him back-to-back titles a year later, before Littler reclaimed the trophy in 2026.
