The Monaco Grand Prix is iconic. Drivers take to the narrow streets of Monaco in the truest test of motorsport, attracting viewers from around the world.

Undoubtedly one of the tightest and trickiest races on the F1 circuit, Monaco always throws up action and intrigue, even though Red Bull has dominated the proceedings at the most recent races.

This article looks forward to the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix and offers some of our top tips and predictions about what will likely happen on Monaco’s streets later this month.

2024 F1 Points Standings Ahead of Monaco Grand Prix

With the Monaco Grand Prix fast approaching, Team Red Bull leads the way, with Verstappen and Perez at the top of the standings. Verstappen has won all but one F1 race this year, winning in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and China. Below are the current F1 standings ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, with five races run:

Position Driver  Team  Points
1 Max Verstappen (NED) Red Bull  110
2 Sergio Perez (MEX)  Red Bull  85

Monaco Grand Prix Predictions and Best Bets

Parimatch is home to the best Formula 1 odds, with a range of markets available ahead of race day. But what’s likely to happen during the race with the Monaco Grand Prix just around the corner? Here are some predictions that could be worth a bet:

Red Bull to dominate

The last three outings in Monaco have been won by Red Bull drivers. Verstappen won in 2021 and 2023, while Perez won the race in 2022. And with Verstappen and Perez at 1 and 2 in the standings, we will likely see them pull away in Monaco.

Max Verstappen has been imperious this season, with his only blip coming in Australia. It would take a confident man to bet against the Dutchman finishing on the podium in Monaco, and it’s more than likely that he will be joined by his teammate Sergio Perez.

Lewis Hamilton to finish in the points

Lewis Hamilton knows how to handle himself in the Monaco Grand Prix, winning in 2008, 2016, and 2019. While there are question marks about the quality of Mercedes’ cars this time around, Hamilton should comfortably finish in the points.

He also has the fastest lap in history at Monaco, at just 1:15.650, highlighting how capable he is around the circuit. While his days at Mercedes are numbered, Hamilton should put on a good showing at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc to impress his home crowd

Leclerc has had an impressive start to the 2024 season. The Monegasque driver is currently in third place in the current standings, behind Verstappen and Perez.

There’s always pressure on Leclerc to perform in Monaco, but don’t be surprised to see him land a podium finish this time around.

He finished fourth in Bahrain and on the podium the following week in Saudi Arabia. He then finished second in Melbourne, securing Ferrari’s first 1-2 since 2022 as his teammate Carlos Sainz drove to victory. Expect him to go well in front of his home crowd later this month.

Who Won the Monaco Grand Prix in 2023?

Max Verstappen won the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix. He finished comfortably ahead of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, who finished second and third.

By winning in Monaco, he extended his lead over his teammate Sergio Perez to 39 points, with the Mexican missing out on the points in a disappointing race.

It was a good race for British interests, with Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finishing in the top five.
