Jamie Vardy recently called time on his Leicester City career, bowing out of the East Midlands after scoring 200 goals for the Foxes.

Though he’s 38 years old, Vardy has admitted that he’s now looking for a new challenge, and plenty of clubs are interested in securing his services.

As we look ahead to the start of the 2025/26 football season, we consider where Jamie Vardy might end up and discuss some transfer betting specials and odds offered at Parimatch Sportsbook.

Any Italian Club

Jamie Vardy could follow in the footsteps of compatriots Ashley Young and Kyle Walker, who secured moves to Serie A in the latter stages of their careers.

Given the slower tempo of Serie A matches, the fact that Vardy has lost half a yard of pace shouldn’t matter as much as it would in the English Premier League.

There would be no shortage of suitors should Vardy relocate to Italy, and he might not be the only English star to transfer to Serie A this summer.

Jack Grealish’s time at Man City looks all but over, and Serie A teams like AC Milan and Napoli are reportedly showing interest in the England international. Might we see a Vardy & Grealish double act in Italy’s fashion capital next season? Only time will tell.

Manchester United

Manchester United have a recent track record of signing centre forwards past their peak. Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Radamel Falcao, and Edinson Cavani have all tried their hand at Old Trafford in recent years, with mixed success.

Jamie Vardy would fit this profile, but he would be a different kind of player for United. He almost certainly wouldn’t be the leading man up top, given the pending arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

But if Ruben Amorim decides to sign Vardy, he will have a brilliant option from the bench and a great goal threat for the last ten to fifteen minutes of tight Premier League games.

Of all the Premier League teams showing an interest in Vardy, Manchester United are the likeliest to get the signing over the line, given their desperate need for a proven goalscorer this summer.

Wrexham

Vardy’s arrival in Wales would fit the Hollywood profile of Wrexham, and his Roy of the Rovers career might have one last twist if he were to fire Red Dragons to the Premier League next season.

This will be a busy summer for Phil Parkinson and the Wrexham board. Significant improvements are required if Wrexham are to truly challenge for promotion at the end of the 2025/26 season.

So many names are being linked with Wrexham this summer, including experienced Premier League campaigners like Christian Eriksen, Aaron Cresswell, and Ben Davies. But if they manage to attract Vardy, it will be their biggest coup.

Whether Wrexham have the funds to make this deal happen is yet to be seen, but Vardy might fancy one last shot at the Premier League before hanging up his boots, and this would be an exciting prospect for the former England international.

Sheffield Wednesday

All fairy tales deserve a happy ending, and Jamie Vardy signing for Sheffield Wednesday might just be the perfect way to bring his professional football career to an end.

Vardy has been a Wednesday fan his entire life after growing up in Sheffield and representing the Owls at youth level. He grew up on the streets around Hillsborough and idolised David Hirst as a youngster.

Many Wednesday fans will also recall some of Vardy’s incendiary celebrations against Sheffield United over the years, including when he cupped his ears at Bramall Lane in 2018.

While there seem to be more appealing options elsewhere, the draw of signing for his hometown club and representing the Owls in the Championship might be enough to get this transfer over the line. Watch this space.

Any Scottish Club

Vardy is reportedly close friends with Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, but a transfer to the other side of Glasgow is much likelier, with Rangers looking for a new striker while undertaking a major rebuild this summer.

The signing of Vardy would mirror the arrival of Jermain Defoe at Ibrox in 2019 and could have a similar impact, with Rangers desperate for a clinical forward who can drive them to their 56th league title.

If Vardy’s looking to finish his career on a high in European competition while playing in front of 50,000 fans per week, Ibrox could be a brilliant fit for the former England international.

Any MLS Club

Outside of Europe, the MLS could appeal to Jamie Vardy. The league is improving yearly, with huge names like Lionel Messi gracing the MLS throughout the season. Might Vardy add his name to the list of European stars banging in the goals in North America’s top league?

The draw of living in the United States is obvious, and there’s much money to be made in the MLS, which compensates for the inferior quality of the football and the lack of competitiveness throughout the regular season.

While it probably won’t be his first choice, the MLS might appeal to Jamie Vardy and his family, so don’t rule out a stateside move for the former Foxes frontman.
