Arne Slot’s Liverpool seem to be leading the charge for Alexander Isak’s signature. They’re reportedly preparing an offer worth over £100 million to try and land him, even though he is currently negotiating a new deal on Tyneside.

While Isak hasn’t openly said he wants to leave Newcastle United this summer, the allure of a transfer to Liverpool is evident. The champions will be competing at the business end of the UEFA Champions League next season and will look to retain their EPL title.

Isak’s goals could prove crucial to Liverpool, and if they get the deal over the line, they will start the 2025/26 campaign with last season’s two top scorers in their ranks.

Arsenal

Isak’s fluidity and pace suit Barcelona’s style, and his added experience and goal threat could improve their performances in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Real Madrid could certainly afford Isak, but given that Kylian Mbappé had a tremendous first season leading the line in Spain’s capital, it’s unclear where Isak would fit in at the Bernabéu.

PSG

Another viable option for the Premier League’s most exciting striker is PSG. The Parisians won their first-ever Champions League title in the 2024/25 season, and Luis Enrique is looking for reinforcements to defend their crown next year.

That said, and as is the case at Real Madrid, PSG aren’t necessarily looking for an out-and-out centre forward, given how productive their free-scoring front line was last season.

But again, if a move to the European champions was proposed to Isak, it would be difficult for him to turn down. Newcastle will hope the likes of PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona stay out of the race, as the allure of playing for one of Europe’s biggest teams might turn Isak’s head.
