Meanwhile, Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has quickly established himself as Pochettino’s number-one goalkeeper after Kepa Arrizabalaga’s departure for Real Madrid in August.

2023/24 could yet end with silverware for Chelsea FC

Although a tilt at the Premier League title looks beyond reach for Chelsea FC this season, there’s still plenty of silverware to be won. Pochettino’s troops have marched their way into the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup, where they will face Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.

Victory over the Magpies would leave them just one two-legged victory from a Wembley final.
