Pereira v Ankalaev Preview

The star attraction at UFC 313 is the light heavyweight title fight between Pereira and Ankalaev. Pereira is braced for his fourth title defence in less than one year, but Ankalaev will be his most formidable opponent to date.

The contrasting styles of these two light heavyweights will be on show for all to see. Pereira has become a fan favourite for his aggressive kickboxing approach, while Ankalaev is a brilliant wrestler and grappler, so Pereira must be at his best to defend any takedowns.

Given that Pereira is widely regarded as one of the greatest kickboxers in UFC history, Ankalaev won’t stand a chance if he goes toe to toe with the Brazilian. He must take him down and wrestle on his own terms to claim the light heavyweight title at UFC 313.

Gaethje v Fiziev Preview

These two lightweight contenders will leave nothing out there as they seek to challenge for the title in the coming months. Gaethje is hugely popular among MMA fans in the USA and will draw on the crowd’s energy in Las Vegas, hoping it will help him overcome the brutal knockout he suffered at UFC 300 against Max Holloway.

Rafael Fiziev is known as one of the UFC’s most aggressive fighters, and he’s more than a match for Gaethje. But the main issue is that he hasn’t appeared for more than a year and a half, and he’s coming off the back of a serious injury.

As a Muay Thai specialist, Fiziev has the power and strength to take Gaethje down, and he will have to do it sooner rather than later if he’s to end the fight on his own terms.
