Nap of the Day
Kyprios headlined day one of Goodwood in style, regaining his 2022 Goodwood Cup by four lengths. Sadly, we will have to make-do without Irish Guineas winner Rosallion who was declared a non-runner last night. The Sussex Stakes will thus likely be a battle between Aidan O’Brien’s Henry Longfellow and 2000 Guineas winner Notable Speech.
My NAP will come in the 14:25 Oak Tree Stakes, however. Jabaara has proven itself over the distance, having won over 7 furlongs at Carlisle and Musselburgh earlier this year. The Roger Varian horse also made a good account of itself over one mile last time out, coming second only to superstar Porta Fortuna at Newmarket. Back down to its preferred distance and with James Doyle booked to ride, Jabaara should justify favouritism at Goodwood today.
