Gareth Ainsworth is now sacked after his time at Loftus Road, with Queens Park Rangers in the relegation zone unable to buy a win in recent weeks.

Though Ainsworth was popular with the R’s fans as a player, he hasn’t taken particularly well to the dugout following a long stint at Wycombe Wanderers, and many fans are wondering how long the board will stick with him before making a change.

Whilst it seems a sure thing that Neil Warnock will take over the role (for that reason, we won’t offer any odds), let’s take a look at some of the names who might be in the hat to replace the Englishman in the coming weeks or months. If anything changes, we’ll be sure to have QPR odds on our Manager Betting page to browse.

Michael Beale

There’s no question that the appointment of Michael Beale would be divisive among the QPR fan base. After all, Beale left QPR for Glasgow Rangers less than 12 months ago, upsetting lots of QPR fans in the process.

Though things didn’t work out for Beale in Glasgow, he had QPR playing well and in the top half of the table, so the board might return to him and ask him to finish what he started last season.

John Terry

Former England captain John Terry has announced that he wants to get into management, and the QPR dressing room certainly needs some inspirational leadership that the former central defender could provide.

The London-based club could be the perfect opportunity for Terry to start his managerial career, and with a lot to prove, he could turn things around for Rangers and help them to climb up the Championship table.

Luke Williams

Though a left-field suggestion, Notts County manager Luke Williams has done a great job over the last 18 months. He steered County up through the National League play-offs and has them sitting in the top three of League Two at the time of writing.

He plays attacking football and would surely love the opportunity to test himself at a higher level, should the Rs come knocking.

Neil Warnock

He’s been there before, but would he go back again? Neil Warnock took QPR up to the Premier League and got the best out of Adel Taarabt during his time at Loftus Road. And given that he’s looking for his next challenge after leaving Huddersfield, Warnock could be the man to steady the ship in West London and keep QPR in the division this season.

They could then look to plan a long-term replacement to guide the team next summer.

Whoever follows Gareth Ainsworth at Loftus Road has a huge job on their hands to keep the Rs afloat in the Championship. It seems to be no contest that Neil Warnock is will take over according to rumours, so no odds will be offered at this time. But keep your eyes peeled for the latest manager odds available at Parimatch to bet on who you think will be in line for a new job in the coming weeks and months of the football season.
