England hopeful Conor Gallagher is on the radar of several English Premier League clubs at the end of the January transfer window, as his game time at Stamford Bridge has been limited in recent weeks.

Also, as Chelsea have finally started to consider the ramifications of their huge expenditure in recent windows, they need to offload some of their players to try and comply with Financial Fairplay regulations.

Given that Gallagher is a young and talented English player, he would likely command a hefty fee, somewhere north of £40 million.

So, with that in mind, which teams are likely to swoop for Gallagher before the end of the football transfer window? Let’s look at the Conor Gallagher next club odds

Tottenham 2/1*

Ange Postecoglou is said to be an admirer of Conor Gallagher, and a move from West London to North London is the most likely prospect for the Chelsea midfielder.

James Maddison’s long-term injury has hampered spurs, but his return to the side at the end of January has bolstered their hopes of a top-four finish this term.

Still, Postecoglou may regard Gallagher as the ideal player to boost his options in the number ten position, and his ability to play out wide and in a deeper role will help Spurs if they suffer another injury crisis before the season is out.

If Gallagher is to move before the end of the winter transfer window, don’t be surprised to see him in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt for the remainder of the season.

Newcastle 16/1

Eddie Howe has been extremely unlucky with injuries this term. In fact, Newcastle’s injury woes have perhaps been the worst in the English Premier League, and their indifferent form can be put down to the fact that key men have been unavailable throughout the season.

The fact that Newcastle have been keen to add young English talent to their ranks in recent windows – Anthony Gordon, Tino Livramento, and Harvey Barnes, for example – highlights the fact that Conor Gallagher fits the club’s profile.

The biggest issue facing Newcastle in this window is the constraint of Financial Fairplay, and it’s the reason that they have been looking to sell some of their key assets to fund moves for other players.

Miguel Almiron has decided to stay at the club following interest from Saudi Arabia, meaning the money Newcastle would have got for him is not available for other transfers. Still, Newcastle have been coy about the money they actually have available, so don’t rule out a last-minute move for Conor Gallagher if Chelsea green-light his exit.

West Ham 20/1

David Moyes has already strengthened his squad with the arrival of Kalvin Phillips in January, and the West Ham manager is also a long-term admirer of Conor Gallagher.

With James Ward Prowse pulling the strings in midfield and Jarred Bowen creating chances from out wide, the Hammers have lots of creativity in midfield already, and Phillips’ arrival will sure things up defensively and help to add balance to their side.

If West Ham can tempt Conor Gallagher to swap West London for East London, it’s unclear exactly how he would fit into the team as a regular starter.

Still, West Ham surprised many when they landed Phillips ahead of interest from Newcastle and Juventus, so there’s undoubtedly a chance that Gallagher could end up at the London Stadium for the second half of the season.

Aston Villa 25/1

After an electrifying start to the season, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have dropped out of the UEFA Champions League spots following a 3-1 humbling by Newcastle United. Villa looked jaded in their defeat to Newcastle, and they were far from their brilliant best.

Some have criticised Emery for refusing to rotate his squad despite the wealth of options at his disposal. Some Villa fans have also suggested that the team is light in midfield so that Gallagher would be a popular addition among the Holte End faithful.

Though Jack Grealish’s departure to Manchester City has funded much of Villa’s recent transfer business, they have invested heavily in recent windows, and it’s unclear whether they could afford to buy Gallagher outright.

If Chelsea sanction a loan move this transfer window, Villa would likely be very interested in bringing a player of his calibre to the West Midlands.

Manchester United 25/1

Manchester United are once again enduring a difficult season. Ten Hag has already moved Jadon Sancho on, and he seems to have fallen out again with Marcus Rashford.

One of the biggest challenges United have faced this season is the lack of consistency in selection. The team has been disjointed from week to week, and injuries have meant that Manchester United have had to field different players in different positions from week to week.

Conor Gallagher has a good track record as far as injuries are concerned and is available more often than not. He could be the ideal addition for Manchester United as they look to re-shape their team with reliable players as they mount a challenge for European qualification.
