2025 will see the VALORANT Esports scene arrive in Canada for the first time, with Toronto scheduled to host the illustrious Masters tournament in June, as part of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT).

Twelve of the best VALORANT teams will compete in Toronto, with a $1,000,000 prize pool up for grabs. Read on for our VALORANT Masters preview and learn about your Esports betting options at Parimatch Sportsbook.

A Brief Introduction to VALORANT Esports

If you’re new to Esports betting, VALORANT is one of the biggest ecosystems, thanks to the highly organised and well-funded VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT).

Produced by Riot Games, VALORANT is a first-person shooter game in which one team attacks and the other defends specific bases. Each team has five players.

Throughout the year, the best Esports teams, such as Fnatic, Team Liquid, and G2 Esports, compete in international leagues and Masters events to earn ranking points on the Tour. This is all leading up to the Champions Tournament, which will be in Paris in 2025. More on this shortly.

When is the VALORANT Masters in Toronto?

The Toronto VALORANT Masters will be held at the Enercare Centre. The Swiss stage will commence on June 7th, and the playoffs will run from June 13th to 22nd.

If you want to watch the event live online, all the action from the VALORANT Masters will be live-streamed on YouTube and Twitch.

Which Teams Have Qualified for the VALORANT Masters?

In the aftermath of the Bangkok Masters, the international VALORANT Leagues continued, with teams competing to represent their respective regions in Toronto.

Three teams from the following four regions qualified for the event: VCT EMEA, VCT Pacific, VCT Americas, and VCT CN. Below are the 12 teams that made the grade ahead of the Toronto event:

VCT EMEA

  • Fnatic
  • Team Heretics
  • Team Liquid

VCT Pacific

  • Gen.G Esports

VCT Americas

What is the Format of the VALORANT Masters?

Twelve teams have qualified for the VALORANT Masters in Toronto. G2 Esports, XLG Esports, Rex Regum Qeon, and Fnatic won their qualifying leagues, so they will bypass the Swiss stage and go directly into the playoffs.

The top four teams from the Swiss stage will join them, while the bottom four teams at the end of phase one will be eliminated. A team must win two games in the best-of-three format to progress through the Swiss stage.

The playoffs are a double-elimination bracket, where two defeats send you home. The last teams standing will compete in the grand final on June 22nd, the only best-of-five contest in the tournament.

$1,000,000 in prize money is up for grabs, with the top team walking away with $350,000. Just as valuable are the VCT ranking points. The top team will secure seven points in the race for Paris, while those finishing second to sixth will also pick up points.

The Road to Paris – Why Each VALORANT Masters Series Matters

The pinnacle of the VCT is the final event in Paris, where the highest-ranked VALORANT teams will compete to become the 2025 champions.

Different challenger and international leagues exist within the ecosystem, while the three Masters events—in Bangkok, Toronto, and Shanghai—represent the best opportunity to make it to Paris.

Teams will earn VCT ranking points based on league position and Masters’ performances. The top-ranked teams will advance to the event in Paris, which will be held in September and October 2025.

So, while it’s still early in the season and there’s a long way to go, the Toronto Masters will have a big say in who is likely to compete in Paris later in the year.

VALORANT Masters Toronto Preview – Who Will Win?

T1 won the last VALORANT Masters event in Bangkok, Thailand, but they won’t feature in Toronto. However, the losing finalists, G2 Esports, will travel to Canada and be among the favourites to go one further this time.

G2 is also the top-ranked VCT team in the Americas, with 16 points, and looks all but assured of competing in Paris in September.

With other top-ranked teams like EDward Gaming and T1 sitting this out, it’s an excellent opportunity for XLG, Bilibili, and Rex Regum Qeon to earn some crucial ranking points in the race to Paris. They will all likely be in the conversation at the business end of the Toronto Masters this June.
